Grammar Translation Method

 Let's talk a little about the Grammar Translation Method

It is the classical method where it was used to help students in reading text for better understanding of foreign culture or in understanding different languages, focusing on reading and writing, and grammar of the target language (any language that is not their mother tongue).


For example:

My native language is Spanish, so my target language is English. 


Since students focus more on reading and writing in the target language the learning of new vocabulary may be facilitated more by the mother tongue, since we must understand to learn and the use of the mother tongue could be important to help students be able to translate from one language to another.
